Assurity's 6th Conference

explore-assurity 1 September 2010

Having organised the 6th Assurity Annual Conference to be held in Canterbury in September, it was touch and go whether it would take place when the devastating earthquake rocked the region earlier in the month.

After consultation with the area’s local businesses and community leaders however, we went ahead with the event at Terrace Downs near Christchurch.

Not only was a great time had by both staff and locals, but we also jumped at the opportunity to contribute to the region that was hosting us so well. We quickly organised an impromptu staff charity auction during the Conference which raised over $17,000.

As a team, we chose to donate half of the money towards restoration of the damaged Hororata Church and the rest to the NZ Red Cross Earthquake Fund.
