Edwin Dando, Consulting Manager – Education, has been announced as one of three finalists in the Excellence in Software category of the inaugural New Zealand Excellence in IT Awards.

The Excellence in IT Awards recognise the real people behind software and information technology – those who make IT work.

A panel of 15 top judges made the selection of companies and individuals from around 100 nominations from the IT industry.

Individuals and teams were nominated to compete for top honours in five sector awards (IT Project Excellence, Excellence in Software, Excellence in Health Informatics, Excellence in Public Sector IT, Excellence in IT Education) and individuals for three supreme awards (Internet Entrepreneur of the Year, Young IT Professional of the Year, IITP President’s Award for Contribution to the IT Profession, New Zealand IT Professional of the Year). The IITP President’s Award for Contribution to the IT Profession will be announced without nomination.

The winners will be announced at the gala dinner on 10 October as part of the ITx Conference in Auckland.

The Awards are in partnership with MYOB, Software Escrow NZ Ltd and 10 of New Zealand’s leading industry associations.

Congratulations Edwin and good luck!
