Shane Evans is a senior executive with over 20 years of global experience in leading brand, data, and digital transformation strategies. His passion lies in crafting strategic brand platforms to propel growth and foster innovation within organisations. After graduating from Otago University, his career journey started in Melbourne when he joined the Australia Postgraduate programme, specialising in Financial Services and what was at that time new frontiers – the creation of internet bill paying service. Following a period of travel, Shane spent valuable time working in advertising agencies in London, where he honed his skills in brand management and digital development.
This experience enabled Shane to lead the global rebrand of Aviva (quoted as the slickest re-brand in history by the Times) before returning to Auckland to lead marketing efforts at ASB where he finished up as Chief Marketing Officer. Shane has been recognised with 150+ global creative and innovation awards and was named New Zealand's Marketer of the Year in 2021.
In May 2022, Shane took on the role of Chief Transformation Officer at the SBS Group to drive the bank's ambitious growth plans, and to also have the opportunity to raise his family close to the family farm where it all began.
Melissa Muirhead is the founder of The Great Work Lab, a company that helps clients globally to create better workplaces. She specialises in Growth Mindset and Design Thinking, offering coaching services to leaders worldwide.
Melissa's 20 years of corporate experience include a Global HR Director role for Finance at Heineken, managing 5,000 people across 80 countries. She is a qualified coach, with accreditation in various psychometric and team effectiveness tools.
Melissa studied Design Thinking at INSEAD business school, which she has applied globally to organizations facing complex problems. She is an expert in Organisational Design using the HPO methodology, combined with Design Thinking to design future-fit organizations. Melissa's work is all about taking performance theory and research and making them practically applicable in the workplace. She believes in measuring effectiveness and using data to support real people development work.
Now based in New Zealand, Melissa enjoys working with fascinating organizations worldwide while gazing out at the beauty of Aotearoa's mountains.
Brian Northern is a seasoned CIO with over a decade of experience leading IT teams and over 15 years as a trusted consultant. Brian started his educational journey at Massey University and earned a business studies degree before pursuing an MBA in London.
His consulting career took him across the globe, from Paris and Amsterdam to Ivory Coast and Kazakhstan. Brian's expertise spans continents, working on multifaceted assignments in diverse industries.
Returning to New Zealand, Brian continued his consulting journey and took on the role of Group CIO for Fulton Hogan, a prominent infrastructure construction and roadworks company across Australasia. At Fulton Hogan, Brian passionately drives digital transformation, leveraging data to enhance operational efficiencies, unlock new opportunities, and create innovative business models. Notably, Brian has been recognised as one of New Zealand's top 50 CIOs from 2020 to 2022.
With a focus on strategic objectives, Brian strives to empower organisations through digitalisation, spearheading change, and capturing value in the ever-evolving world of technology.
At Assurity, Steve works with senior executives, in both the Public and Private Sector, to help them de-risk the delivery of business change and build enduring confidence in the outcome. He was until recently the Country Manager of Unisys (New Zealand) Ltd. He has worked in senior executive roles in both Hewlett Packard and EDS specialising in Service Delivery and Sales, particularly with Government clients. He has also worked in London for a Strategic Management Consultancy. He has an MBA from a leading European Business School, a BSc in Aeronautics and a post-grad diploma in Strategy.
Steve is an associate lecturer at Victoria University, specialising in Leadership, Programme/Project governance and removing dysfunctional behaviour.
He is a published Author; his latest book, ‘Don’t be a Dick!’ deals with removing bad behaviour through good leadership.
