DevOps Days is set for greater success – and Assurity’s right behind it

Date: 23 September 2019

As DevOpsDays prepares to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its first-ever conference in Ghent at the end of October, plans for the fourth DevOpsDays in New Zealand are being finalised with Assurity as a Gold Sponsor once again.

All set to take place at the newly-refurbished Aotea Centre in Auckland on 21-22 October, the two-day event has a packed programme of presentations, open spaces and an ‘Ignite’ session on both afternoons.

Nigel Charman, Service Development Manager, is a core organiser who helped set up DevOpsDays in NZ. “As a non-profit conference run by volunteers, it’s incredible how far we’ve come. From bootstrapping the conference in 2016 with 175 attendees, we’re now running it for 450* people in the Aotea Centre. The combination of presentations and open space sessions has been really popular in providing attendees the opportunity to hear and discuss the broader adoption of DevOps.”

Assurity’s Allen Geer and Michael Harrod will give a joint presentation on the morning of day one on ‘Kiwi Ingenuity – Kiwis Can Overcome Tough Problems in DevOps’ in which they’ll review a few common problems they encounter while adopting DevOps practices in large Kiwi organisations.

Allen and Michael will discuss what these problems are, how they affect DevOps culture and transformation and give some suggestions on how leaders and teams can work to overcome them.

Find out who else is speaking in Auckland here from across the software delivery, QA, security, operations and management spectrum.

*Such is the demand that, while Auckland DevOpsDays 2019 is now sold out, the organisers are working frantically to make room for more attendees. So jump on the waitlist and watch this space.
