Wellington, New Zealand – Assurity, a leading New Zealand technology consultancy specialising in quality engineering, assurance, and digital transformation, has announced a leadership transition as the company enters a new phase of growth and innovation.
After nearly eight years with the company, including four as Chief Executive, Steve Mitchell will be stepping down on 14 November to take on a new role as Managing Director at AJ Park, New Zealand’s leading intellectual property law firm. Under Steve’s leadership, Assurity successfully navigated the post-COVID economic downturn, reshaped its operations, and laid the foundation for renewed growth.
Returning to lead the organisation is Garth Hamilton, Assurity’s co-founder and previous Chief Executive. Garth brings extensive industry experience and a clear strategic vision, particularly as the company embraces AI-driven transformation in software development and delivery.
Assurity also welcomes Reg Prasad, who joined in May to lead the Practice and Solutions team, bringing deep expertise in solutioning, delivery excellence and capability development.
Recent strategic wins include engagements with the Ministry of Social Development, Lotto NZ, Cashpoint, and AA Insurance, alongside expansion into New South Wales, marking Assurity’s first win outside its Queensland base in Australia.
The company is also advancing its innovation agenda through a new partnership with DataMasque, enhancing data privacy and compliance, and accelerating AI enablement initiatives to help clients achieve greater efficiency and capability.
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that Assurity is in great hands. The future is bright.”
Steve Mitchell
Garth adds, “I’m looking forward to reconnecting with our customers and partners and continuing to build on the strong foundation Steve has helped create.”
Assurity acknowledges the ongoing support of its customers and partners, whose collaboration continues to drive the company’s success.
