Al Shalloway is considered a thought leader in several areas including Lean, SAFe, Kanban, Scrum, design patterns, Acceptance Test-Driven Development, Lean-management, value creation networks, Lean product management and more. Al is the creator of FLEX (FLow for Enterprise Transformation) which is the core of the Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant workshop - PMI’s premier Agile at scale approach. He is also a Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant Instructor.
He is the primary author of five books:

- Lean-Agile Software Development: Achieving Enterprise Agility
- Lean-Agile Pocket Guide for Scrum Teams
- Essential Skills for the Agile Developer: A guide to Better Programming and Design

Al has been a contributor to SAFe, a SPC trainer, and a gold partner. Al co-founded Lean Kanban University (now Kanban University) but is no longer affiliated with it. He attended Snowbird 10, the 10-year anniversary gathering of the Agile Manifesto.
Al has a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and a Masters in Mathematics from Emory University.
Gareth is an Agile Practitioner and a seasoned technology product development professional. He coaches teams using Agile / Lean techniques and develops ‘systems thinking’ approaches to organisation design. Gareth has over 15 years experience in product development project management prior to becoming a consultant and coach.
His initial education was as an Engineering Apprentice in the Royal Navy before studying Japanese Management principles in the early '90s. Gareth worked at Sony Corp as a development engineer before moving to New Zealand. He's always maintained a high level of interest in in lean principles learned in electronics manufacturing and how it can apply to all types of work flows.
When not at work, Gareth runs a small holding farm in Northland New Zealand, and has represented New Zealand at the ITU Triathlon world championships in the past 5 years, and completed 15 Ironman races.
