New look for Assurity Consulting, same commitment to quality delivery

New look for Assurity Consulting, same commitment to quality delivery

Date: 20 December 2022

New Zealand’s leading technology quality assurance and business analysis company Assurity Consulting unveiled a new logo and its first brand refresh in over a decade. The company also revealed a new service strategy and leadership team, affirming its mission to help clients ‘transform their businesses with confidence’.

“Organisations in New Zealand are adopting a digital-first approach and doubling down on their technology investments post-pandemic as they seek improved productivity in the midst of a skills crunch,” says Assurity Consulting CEO Stephen Mitchell. “And at Assurity Consulting, we’re helping achieve better ways of working through technology but always through a Human Centred Design lens.”

From its offices in Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch, Assurity  offers expertise in Design Thinking, Business Analysis, Software Testing and Quality Assurance, Ways of Working, and Education services. Known for tackling unusual problems and delivering innovative solutions, the company has grown to 150 consultants with a singular focus on helping local companies perform better, with quality software and systems.

Among the diverse challenges Assurity Consulting has successfully taken on include redesigning a building for AgResearch to better suit scientists, quality assurance for the Inland Revenue Department’s digital transformation, and providing automated software test solutions for multiple Kiwi organisations. A significant innovation introduced by the company is its Assurity Cloud, permanently hosting ‘on demand’ test assets for multiple clients, driving down the cost and accessibility of software quality assurance.

Mitchell notes that these examples are drawn from a track record covering nearly two decades and several thousand engagements across the country. “For more than 17 years, we’ve worked with some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest organisations across a full range of verticals, helping with digital and business transformation programmes. This depth and breadth of experience is brought to bear for every customer and is the foundation of our continued success.”

The new service strategy is influenced by the ‘Aotearoa’s Digital Priorities In 2022 report’ produced by TUANZ (the Telecommunications User Association of New Zealand), which shows the country falling behind on digital economic performance. The TUANZ report, notes Mitchell, places New Zealand 42nd overall in the world for technology access; “It is our mission, through every engagement, to steadily move upwards not only through the effective use of technology but also through better quality.”

The strategy, therefore, addresses executives (such as CMO, COO, CIO, CDO) at, or before, the inception of a project, accurately defining outcomes and business value creation, and project teams where execution takes place, building confidence that deliverables meet the end-user expectations, reducing risk.

In addition to its new look and strategy, the company has enhanced its leadership team with the appointment of three new members. Russell Ewart, Ben Walsh, and Justine Denize now lead Assurity’s Test and Assurance, Value and Innovation, and Delivery Practices respectively.

The new leaders are subject matter experts promoted from the company’s practitioner pool, notes Mitchell.

“Our services in Test and Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, Design and Innovation, and Ways of Working position Assurity well to help client organisations’ focus on business value and outcomes. We’ve done a lot of this before; as seasoned professionals, we help anticipate challenges while de-risking the process,” he adds.

Proud of the new look and feel of the brand, Mitchell says it reflects the confidence Assurity brings to customers. “We apply Human Centred Design across everything we do at Assurity, and that extends to the rebrand. We conducted extensive market research, and of course, engaged our staff and our clients during the design and development process. The result speaks for itself, as a bold new brand embodying a confident yet personable look and feel. It’s a brand that says Assurity is here to help New Zealand Inc on a pathway to doing business better,” he concludes.
